Dear Friends of Blue Morpho,

We recently concluded our final tour of the 2011 season. I would like to thank each and every one of you for your part in making Blue Morpho such a successful Shamanic center.  It is only because of all you that Blue Morpho exists.  I also want to thank you for your feedback about our camp and operations. This constant feedback helps us fine-tune the Blue Morpho experience so it can be the best that it can be, and truly make Blue Morpho a place to be proud of. 

The 2012 Calendar has been posted and the first January tour is fully booked and the second almost full. We have 12 tours planned for 2012; Don Alberto and Malcolm shall host eight of these tours and Hamilton and Wendy shall host four.

The 7 day 5 ceremony Universality and Yoga Intensive workshops, lead by Hamilton and Wendy Souther, will merge three main aspects of spiritual/shamanic development. The first is our connection to Universality, love, heart and wholeness. The second is our connection to spirit as spirit, and the third is our experience through the body. We will merge these three key points of focus into a holistic experience of Ceremony, Body and Spirit.

The ceremonies will be focused on Love, Heart, Wholeness and Oneness where we will hold a collective intent and unify the ceremony in a single expression as one single being. We will then take the focus of Love from ceremony and bring it into our physicality with gentle and more intensive yoga, utilizing the expression of Love through nature and body.

We will spend our time focusing on Love and Wholeness instead of individual narrative. We will take all questions to Love and receive our answers from the Heart as our seat of personal knowledge. This will be a total emersion in the essence and experience of perception not identified as self but in the expression of a single consciousness.

 

Modern Shamanism:
As many of you have heard by now, we have launched Modern Shamanism. It has been a huge project and has evolved into being something much larger than originally planned. The testimonials and feedback that we have had from those that have joined has been great. Thank you to all that have helped us getting Modern Shamanism shared with the world.

Hamilton and Wendy did a tour of the U.S. hosting Modern Shamanism workshops in seven cities. We video taped much of the final event in Los Angeles and will be releasing the footage on the Modern Shamanism website in January 2012.

The My Little Universe project is under way and proving to be very enriching. We know that parenting is one of the most rewarding activities you’ll ever experience, but often, it’s also one of the most challenging. My Little Universe was created to help you with some of those more challenging situations. The stories and products help you guide your child to transcend the fears that can form in young minds, as well as difficulties that all children experience from time to time. The My Little Universe Free Web Community integrates the Adventures of Jack and Sara with resource materials for parents and fun for kids.

The first product range (Beautiful Dreams from the Amazon) has been completed. The range consists of a 42 page beautifully illustrated high quality book, a relaxing aromatherapy room spray and a soothing CD. Beautiful Dreams from the Amazon is more than just a book to read to your child at bedtime. The combination of the book, aromatherapy spray, and other products create a package that encompasses all of a child’s needs in establishing a pattern to promote a peaceful night’s sleep.

The second product range is based in Egypt and should be ready to launch in early February.

Help Wanted with My Little Universe projects.

We are looking for a couple of people that are interested in being part of the My Little Universe project in the U.S.  We need some help getting the product range into stores; promoting it to the public and helping to build the My Little Universe online community. The project requires people that are super friendly, enthusiastic and are good at sales. An existing sales network would be advantageous.

The right people will really connect with the products and view it as an avenue for personal and professional growth and development. They will be self-motivated and have a willingness to develop the product range in collaboration with the company. The project is in its infancy and will require drive and determination to successfully launch it in the US. Individuals involved in the project would be required to call into stores, do presentations as well as connecting to chain store product purchasers.

New Additions to the Blue Morpho Family
With the help of several of our guests, Cleo, our camp medicine cat, gave birth to three beautiful kittens in the ceremony house after the third ceremony during our December tour.  The adorable kittens are growing fast and have already opened their eyes and have begun exploring their new world. They will be joining us for the early 2012 tours while Cleo is still nursing. Congratulations to Cleo!

Astrology Readings with our very own Mark Flaherty

Mark Flaherty, who you may know as the guy who answers all your emails and questions, has been coming to Blue Morpho since 2004, and working with us since 2007. Through his journey with ayahuasca he was guided to study astrology. His readings have been described as warm, perceptive and astonishingly accurate.

Mark offers Birth Chart readings via Skype or a written report. Gain a deeper understanding of who you are and what your life is about through his discussion of:

Personal Address from Hamilton:

February 2012 will mark Blue Morpho’s 10 year anniversary. This milestone is a direct demonstration to our commitment to Amazonian Shamanism and the Blue Morpho Family that has been created over the years.

Two of the things that mean most to me are the incredible life changes and relationships that have formed because of Blue Morpho. When I created it, I never thought people would return. When the first guests began returning I was surprised. Now people have returned many times and has given us the opportunity to really get to know them and go through their transformation together.

We have launched new projects designed to bring “the medicine,” beyond the ceremonies, to the modern world. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with them and help spread the word about their launch and the tremendous benefits they will bring to people, who just like you, are looking to better their lives.

I want to offer my personal thanks to everyone that has returned to Blue Morpho over the years, helping to make it more than just a shamanic center. You have all participated in making Blue Morpho a place of true transformation.

We have just concluded our 7th tour for 2011; the July 17th, 7-Day workshop was a great success with a record 35 guests. It was great fun and once again amazing to see all of the huge positive life transformations that took place.

Summer Season - Our July – September tours booked out quickly this year, so we added a new tour that will start on October 2nd and it's also filling up fast.

Due to an increase in running costs and decrease in the US dollar we have had to have a small price increase to absorb some of the costs. However as a way of thanking our return guests we are offering our listed 2012 tours at 2011 prices for anyone that books and pays a 50% deposit before the end of September 2011. We have also added a special tour at the beginning of next year’s summer season that will include 8 Ayahuasca ceremonies; we expect this to be the only one of its type for the year so if you are interested please book early.

Kellee Morris - We would like to extend a warm welcome back to Kellee Morris. Kellee will be working and learning with Blue Morpho over the Summer season.  Kellee is an experienced Shaman and healing practitioner. Kellee Morris first came to  Blue Morpho in August 2005 at the old camp and immediately knew that shamanic work would become her life's joyful journey. Kellee is also certified in many massage/bodywork modalities and is a certified Yoga instructor as well.  Kellee offers shamanic massage/bodywork/energy work before and after tours here in Iquitos at a special rate for our guests: $60 USD.  Welcome Kellee!





New member of the family - Please allow us to introduce Cleo, our camp medicine cat. Cleo joined the Blue Morpho family in April as a rat deterrent, but she quickly became a greatly therapeutic love machine, brightening the experience of our guests with purrs and snuggles, always at the exact moment they needed her. Welcome Cleo! Cleo will be taking maternity leave for the next few tours so she can take care of her soon-to-be babies in a homey environment.

 

Menu Upgrades - We've improved our traditional menu and added two new delicious, healthy dishes. Our chicken cordon bleu with turkey ham is a hit with everyone and the Dorado chicharrones are a great dinner treat!

 

Modern Shamanism - Modern Shamanism is about to be launched and we are extremely excited! The community will stretch across the world uniting people in a common pursuit: Exploring life and spirituality through Modern Shamanism and the connection, meaning and purpose it provides. Modern Shamanism will be much more than just a course. Its focus is community and the uniting of like minds from the world’s many incredible cultures. The course will be the guide to help people develop their Modern Shamanism while the community will provide the interaction to keep the practice vibrant and new.

Modern Shamanism becomes a lifestyle that integrates spirituality and life as one. The community will have active daily involvement from Modern Shamanism founders, coaches and members, with live addresses and supportive learning. As the community grows workshops, study groups and events will be held bringing a physical presence to our online community. This is not a simple correspondence course. Members will receive access to course material, coaches’ communities and the global community. The course will provide the daily framework with activities to stimulate evolution and personal transformation.

Modern Shamanism Coaches’ training course: Modern Shamanism will be hosting its second Coaches’ training course in Iquitos, Peru. A coach in Modern Shamanism is an advanced student of Modern Shamanism who has completed the Modern Shamanism Course for Coaches. A coach is available to students of Modern Shamanism for guiding, answering questions, providing individual counseling sessions, leading local workshops, and participating in Modern Shamanism events.

A person can become a coach after successfully completing two or more levels in Modern Shamanism and formally applying to the training program. If accepted, the person will enroll in the Course for Coaches. Once that course has been successfully completed, the person will become a coach.

Modern Shamanism coaches earn income directly from their work with individual students. A dedicated coach can establish a career in Modern Shamanism, with an income commensurate with the expected levels of a modern profession.

Modern Shamanism Events 2011: The first round of Modern Shamanism events in major American cities as well as some major cities around the world is being scheduled for later this year. These events will be weekend events where Hamilton Souther will share general information with those interested in Modern Shamanism as well as holding workshops for those already involved in the course. These events will be a great opportunity for many to work with the founder of Modern Shamanism.

The proposed dates for 2011 are October 15^th, October 22^nd, November 5^th, November 12^th, November 19^th and December 3^rd. The US cities we are looking at holding the events are San Francisco, Los Angles, New York, Chicago, Miami and New Orleans. The final schedule and locations of the events will be organized and announced next month.

By Being Here – The project By Being Here had been pushed along the timeline so we could get Modern Shamanism and My Little Universe up and going. Now that these two projects are getting closer to completion we will continue on building this way of sharing Universal Philosophy with the world. Hotel Ramada Spa - Those of you who have flown in to Lima after 8 p.m. know that the waits for your connecting flights into Iquitos can be downright painful. We have finally found a great solution for your sleep deprivation before tours: The Hotel Ramada, Lima Airport. Located directly outside and across the street from the airport building, after leaving baggage claim, The Ramada offers a spa service where you can shower, sleep on a comfortable cot and use their WiFi. They also provide lockers with locks for your luggage. The charge for the service is $70 USD for six hours (No reservation necessary). This is a great alternative to staying up in the food court until your flight at 6:30 a.m.
 

Casa Morey - We've added another great hotel to our list of places to stay while in Iquitos. Casa Morey is an old rubber plantation building newly renovated within the last year. Located two blocks from Plaza de Armas, Casa Morey is a quiet, spacious and beautiful colonial style hotel, complete with pool and continental breakfast.

Thanks to all of you 2010 has been an amazing year. The final tours for this year were solidly booked as is the January 2011 tour. Blue Morpho has gone through some major transformations this year and we thank all of you that have given major input into the current evolution, the camp is looking and operating the best it ever has.

As well as Blue Morpho evolving we are so happy to hear that so many guests are reporting that they are having very positive transformational experiences also. It is your evolution as guests that make Blue Morpho as special as it is, well done, keep up the great work.

We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and look forward to spending time with you in the medicine in the near future.

A personal message from Hamilton

First of all I want to offer everyone a massive thank you for all the support you have given us over the last 8 years. When I think about the evolution of Blue Morpho, beginning with my days as an apprentice and up to the present day, I am astounded over and over by the raw power and clarity of the medicine and Ayahuasca as a transformative practice.

I, as an individual, and we, as an organization, have spent the last 8 years following the teachings of Ayahuasca and Papa Tua (The head medicine spirit of Ayahuasca). Those teachings brought guests, apprentices and helpers to us and when the time was right for them to go, the same teachings guided them to continue on their unique and beautiful life path. This ebb and flow of amazing unique people continues to enrich our lives.

Each year we have adapted our schedule to address the time constraints and changing needs of our guests. The coming year brings great diversification to Blue Morpho and I am very excited to see a balanced and diversified calendar in 2011. This diversification is for you. I know that by offering different types of workshops you will be able to find the ones that will fit with your current path and lifestyle.

As you may have already seen, I will only be attending 6 of the scheduled groups in 2011. It has always been my goal to pursue ways of translating the individual and personal experiential teachings of Ayahuasca into different mediums that would be able to reach a larger population of interested people through a form that would not be considered illegal or controversial by world governments. In 2010, I began the development of three projects that will fulfill this vision.

The first project is called By Being Here (www.bybeinghere.com) and will share universality (universal philosophy) as a lifestyle and life path through practice and social community. Universality is Love and By Being Here (BBH) involves practices that are designed to support our exploration of Love as our daily life experience. Love is the simple state. It is not complex. It is not dualistic. Universality is designed to unwind the complexity of our daily lives so that we can live Love as a very real and tangible experience, real time, right Now.

Universality can be practiced anywhere at any time and BBH is designed to explore these principles in daily life. In addition to this we will continue to explore Universality within Ayahuasca Shamanism. In 2011 we are offering basic and intermediate workshops in Universality. Both the discussions and ceremonies will be focused on Love. Our work in Universality this year has opened a space of transformation unprecedented in previous years. In the ceremonies I will be hosting next year we will be exploring and experiencing Ayahuasca as an expression of pure Love.

The second project is designed to teach a form of Shamanism that is based in experiences found in the context of modern societies. Imagine experiencing your daily life from the same states of clear transformative consciousness found while at camp; being ‘in’ it at work, at home, or at play. This form of modern shamanism is being developed from the ground up and created specifically for people living in the contemporary world. While it will serve as a stand-alone practice it will be especially powerful for people with Ayahuasca ceremonial experience.

The final project is designed to facilitate supportive, affirming and open communication between parents and children; and bridge the gap between parents’ and children’s perceptions. We are developing and creating a children’s book series and supporting products that blend spiritual teachings and understanding through modern themes. We plan on launching our first books and products this spring.

I am very excited to be able to maintain a presence and still hold ceremonial space at Blue Morpho while having the time and opportunity to develop these new projects.

We are living in the medicine in a very amazing time. I am grateful to the medicine, to the spirits, to Love and to you all for being part of this amazing journey I get to call life.
