2011 Calendar

Our new 2011 schedule is now online with many new and interesting tours to choose from. As we stated in the newsletter’s opening Blue Morpho is transforming, and one of the biggest transformations for 2011 will be that Hamilton will only be present on 6 of the 12 scheduled tours. His personal evolution now has him where he needs to dedicate more time to all the concepts that help spread Universal shamanism to the rest of the world. So the 2011 tours are split into two distinct groups; Universality tours with Maestros Alberto and Hamilton together and Traditional Shamanism with Maestro Alberto. We expect workshops that Hamilton will lead, to fill quickly. Two of them are at the beginning of 2011, so if you are interested in working with him this year, we recommend that you book early as spaces will be limited.  All of the Traditional shamanism tours will have a maximum number of sixteen guests, and all have additional workshops that connect with the medicine to open up new spaces where you can evolve and integrate other lifestyle practices. Such as;

  • Toe (Datura) + Ayahuasca Tour with Storm crystals: “Not for the faint of heart” This tour will focus on the traditional “jungle” medicine of Ayahuasca and Toe. Toe has been used as a traditional admixture to Ayahuasca for centuries and is a powerful visionary medicine. Combined with talks on Traditional Shamanism and special Toe icaros sung during the ceremonies, this proves to be a very unique experience. We also have workshops where the guests have the opportunity to learn, work with and diet Storm Crystals (Crystals that are specific for change and transformation)
  • Chakra Crystal Diets: This tour focuses on the special energy of crystals and how they relate to the chakra centers of our bodies. By dieting crystals at the same time as drinking Ayahuasca the teacher spirits of plant and mineral integrate bringing greater clarity and crystal like focus and insight into our lives. The crystals are dieted in order of ascension of our body’s energy, so each day we diet according to a different chakra and set of crystals. This unites the traditional Amazonian medicinal systems with the Eastern chakra systems.
  • Ayahuasca + Astrology tour: This special Ayahuasca tour has a series of workshops which will expand and nurture your approach to Astrology. We will prepare astrology charts for each participant and have workshops on how to understand them and connect with your own natal maps. We will also be having workshops on crystals that relate to the different planets allowing you a very special way of connecting with your astrological ruling bodies. Gain clarity in your private and professional life while you connect to life purpose and deeper communion and harmony between yourself and your existence.
  • Ayahuasca and Meditation tour: During this Ayahuasca tour there will be daily meditations however we shall also discuss and work with a variety of crystals and methodologies that help you take your meditation practice to a new level.

We have listened to our guests’ comments and have made changes to reflect their changing needs. Thank you all who have shared their feedback with us. Our standard length of time for a tour in 2011 will be 7 days (6 nights) still with 5 Ayahuasca ceremonies and will start on a Sunday, this is so people who have been having difficulty getting the time off work to attend tours can now fit a full tour into one working week. Our standard tour will still be full sized, with Maestros Alberto and Hamilton and focusing on the concepts and life practices held within Universal Shamanism.

The Blue Morpho Sanango tour will change its format for 2011, many guests have commented that it’s too long and difficult for them to organize time so our Sanango tour in 2011 will be 8 days (7 nights) with the normal 3 nights of Sanango but with two less days in the middle and two Ayahuasca ceremonies at the end.

Maestro Chris Odle

It is often part of the evolution of a Maestro to break out on their own in order to expand upon and develop their own unique style in the medicine. Chris has decided the time has come for him to branch out in his shamanic work and nurture his own style in other parts of the world. It is with both sadness and great pride that we announce Maestro Chris Odle's departure from Blue Morpho. Throughout his ascension to Maestro and beyond, Chris' path in the medicine has led him to many amazing places. We are certain this next segment in his spiritual path will be no different. We all wish him the best.

Delta Airlines Article

During our July tour we were visited by a senior journalist and photographer from “Delta Sky Magazine” who asked to write an Ayahuasca feature in their November 2010 issue about Blue Morpho. Both writer and photographer had terrific transformational experiences and said that their biggest challenge would be to fit all of their great experiences in the limited amount of space allotted for the magazine. So if you fly Delta airlines, check us out next month. Sting is on the cover.

Dear Friends,

We’ve had an incredibly exciting start to 2010! We have just finished our third tour for the year—a very successful Sanango tour. Sanango is without doubt the pinnacle of healing medicine. We watched as its glacier-like effect crushed guests’ barriers and blockages over the 8-day diet, allowing clean spaces to open for them so they could then manifest new behaviors. The diet was followed by three Ayahuasca ceremonies. Blue Morpho’s Ayahuasca medicine is growing stronger. Universal shamanism within the mesa is evolving in such a way that the guests are achieving as much in two ceremonies as they used to achieve in five. This is excellent news, as guests now have more opportunities to experience the following nights in the space of the medicine clean of personal turmoil.

Blue Morpho is evolving within the medicine as well. Have a look at our latest news:

1.    The new look of the Blue Morpho Web site
2.    Blue Morpho’s new office
3.    Chris’s ascension as a Maestro and his private 8-ceremony dietas (includes a crystal dieta)
4.    10% Discount in Blue Morpho prices due to increase of airline charges
5.    New 6-day, 5-ceremony intensive workshops
6.    New long-weekend workshops
7.    New cook house
8.    Guests’ questions section in monthly newsletters

The new look of the Blue Morpho Web site

We have launched the new look of the Blue Morpho Web site! It’s fast and easy to use. It contains lots of new pages filled with new information and includes sections in which, over the next few months, we will upload footage of talks and instructional videos, as well as text and audio versions of the talks. The easy-to-use social networking component is also up and running, allowing a Facebook-like space where you can openly discuss your thoughts and experiences with Ayahuasca with people who have had similar experiences. This network also hosts group post-tour communications, so login, join your group, and enjoy! From now on, this will also be the place to pick up your tour group photo.

Blue Morpho’s new office

As of 22nd March, the Blue Morpho office will be at its new address: #515 Avenida Guardia Civil, Pampachica. (The phone number remains the same.) The office is situated in a quiet Iquitos suburb called Pampachica. Many of you might remember seeing an army tank on the right side of the road as we headed toward camp; the new office is just one minute from that spot. The office has been designed to be a spacious, comfortable, modern oasis in a peaceful part of town. Its location will also shorten the bus trip to the camp by a good 10 to 15 minutes, eliminating the congested downtown traffic section of the trek. From now on, all tours will be based out of this address.
Basic directions: Head toward the airport on the main road (Avenue Quinones). Turn right at the traffic lights just after the tank. (This intersection has a petrol station with the sign Grifo Pampachica.) The Blue Morpho office is 700 yards on the left. (For detailed directions please see the page on the website marked ‘Where is Blue Morpho’.)

Chris’s ascension as a Maestro and his private 8-ceremony dietas

Chris has ascended to the rank of Maestro. Congratulations, Chris! During the Aya 40, the mesa and the medicine recognized him as a Maestro. His final step in the process of graduating to this rank was to host his own ceremonies and manage the space alone for other people. He did this at the beginning of February by holding his first private dieta. The medicine for those involved reflected Chris’s energy as a Maestro: strong, yet gentle and incredibly cleansing.

He has set up two more of these tours, only for return guests and only for dieters. (Please check the online calendar for tour dates.) These tours are 9 days long, and Ayahuasca is drunk each of the 8 nights. The ceremonies are a bit shorter than the standard Blue Morpho ceremony; however, as the medicine is drunk each night, the intensity grows dramatically. Chris has also incorporated crystal dieting in the morning as part of the medicine. See the Web site for more details about dieting crystals.

10% discount in Blue Morpho prices due to increase of airline charges

Blue Morpho recognizes that with the increase in the cost of flights the total cost of a tour has become difficult for many. For this reason, we’ve decided to offer a 10% discount on all of this year’s tours that are booked and deposited before the end of May 2010. (Unfortunately, due to the high costs associated with Sanango, we have to exclude the Sanango diets from this discount.) This discount is in addition to the return-guest discount. We hope this will help many who want to come to grow in the medicine but have financial difficulties.

New 6-day, 5-ceremony intensive workshops

We have introduced a new tour layout so that guests can fit the normal 5 ceremonies into a more convenient length of time. This new 6-day format means you can fly down to Iquitos, spend time in the medicine, fly home, and only be away from work and loved ones for a week. Having 5 ceremonies in a row also allows the space for return guests to delve further into the medicine in a more intense way.

New long-weekend workshops

Another new format we offer for tours are the long-weekend tours (4 days, 3 ceremonies). These opportunities are for guests who want to experience the medicine at Blue Morpho but may not have the time or money to spend on the longer tours. They either start on a Sunday and finish on Wednesday or start on a Thursday and finish on Sunday, so with weekend travel, your days off of work can be minimal. These tours are also a terrific way for new guests to experience Blue Morpho for as low as $1125 if booked and deposited for before the end of May. (For return guests, the price is $1125, or only $1012.50 with the May discount). These tours are also spaced so they can be done back to back, creating a 9-day 6-ceremony format where guests are welcome to stay in camp on the day off in between tours for free.

New cook house

Our new cook house has been a terrific addition to the Blue Morpho camp. It’s situated at the front of the camp near the main house, on hard, level ground. It’s larger, allowing much more space to spread out during the washing and pounding stages, as well as a cook fire that can handle up to 11 pots. Don Alberto enjoys the cook house so much that he now does his one-on-ones in this space.

Guests’ questions section in monthly newsletters

These newsletters will be sent out each month, usually a few days after a tour finishes, and we would like to have your input. For this reason, a section will be dedicated to answering questions about Traditional Shamanism, Universal Shamanism, Universal philosophy, or even questions about how the medicine is changing and shaping your life.

Naturally, we would also love to hear the good things about how your life has transformed, so please send us stories and testimonials as well.

All questions, stories, and testimonials can be sent to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , and we will select several to include each month for publication in the newsletter.

In Love and Light,

Blue Morpho

Newsletter 4

I would like to offer you all a warm greeting from Blue Morpho. This newsletter is designed to reflect themes of interest of the reader, so I am asking for feedback on any topics that you would like to see addressed in the following months. Amazonian Shamanism is an ample topic with many facets that we can develop through this medium to open our understanding of this ancient system of spiritualism.

Much time has passed since our last newsletter, and in that time many positive changes have taken place with Blue Morpho. First we would like to announce that we have moved location from the Aucayacu River to 180 acres of land off the Iquitos Nauta road on Km 53.  The new location has become our permanent home offering easier access from Iquitos. The new camp can now be reached by auto in an hour from Iquitos and just 45 minutes from the airport. We began construction in May of 2005 and opened in November. Since November we have continued building and now have a Main House, Ceremonial House, three bungalows, and ayahuasca cookhouse. We continue to build bungalows to be able to offer private accommodation to for our guests. We are currently building two bungalows with three to follow. By the end of 2006 we wish to have the new camp fully constructed allowing for private accommodation for groups of 35 guests.  The old camp was gifted to Rosa, Pedro, and family.
