Blue Morpho will complete its 2009 summer workshops with our upcoming group that departs tomorrow. This summer, we took our work with the medicine to a new level. Not only was the ayahuasca and diets very strong but we continued to push the boundaries of universal spirituality, quantum philosophy and personal realization. The returning guests had the opportunity to explore greater depths in the medicine, culminating in the Sanango/Continuity diet. A full group dieted pure Sanango and then went into three straight Ayahausca ceremonies. It was amazing to experience the glowing changes in all of the participants from when they had first come to Blue Morpho, through the Sanango diet and then at the end of the ayahuasca ceremonies. The medicine truly expressed “endless beauty” (as Don Alberto describes it) a medicine that continues to share its beauty no matter how many times you return to it. Each time a guests returns they take their understanding of the medicine and personal transformation to new horizons. This year we will offer two Sanango/Continuity diets, one in March and the other at the end of August. The Mesa:

Don Alberto Torres Davila: Alberto continues to inspire in our ceremonies. As ever he is a man of great simplicity living his medicine and loving his jungle. He is committed to the work at Blue Morpho. Not only is he an integral part of Blue Morpho but he heads his own mesa in his home town where he is teaching the arts of the medicine to two of his children. He is also building a ranch where his family will raise buffalo and make local cheese.

Mimi Buttacavoli: It is with great joy and great sadness that after four and a half years Mimi is leaving Blue Morpho. The joy: She completed two stages of apprenticeship becoming a Maestra Palera and Maestra Sananguera. The sadness: At the same time she faced her own truth and realized that it is not time for her to continue apprenticing in Ayahuasca. Mimi is planning on practicing and working directly with clients. We wish her the very best and our connection and friendship remains intact. While it is time for her to go on her own, her parting is one of joy. Her world awaits her and we applaud her for her dedication to her medicine.

Chris Odle: Chris is growing and learning every week. His commitment is unmatched and has learned the depth of commitment that apprenticeship requires. He is now able to work in all aspects of the medicine and has even hosted a few ayahuasca ceremonies on his own.

John Patton: I decided that I needed to formally end John's apprenticeship but open a space for him to continue learning and growing in the medicine. John accepted to stay at Blue Morpho but no longer under the title of apprentice. He is volunteering on each group, still greeting guests at the airport and seeing where the medicine will take him. Each week the medicine is opening up to him more and more.

Jeremy Bleech: Jeremy is currently in Florida raising his first child and expecting his second. He continues to manage reservations and online communication with our guests.

Recent Developments:

2010 Workshop Dates: The new 2010 dates are up on the site. We are looking forward to another great year of workshops and life transformation. Bookings are already beginning to fill the early 2010 dates.

Reminder: At the end of the year there will be a small price increase. The return guest price will be $1990. This price will include the shamanic diet if you elect it. Once again inflation and the devaluation of the dollar are affecting the overall economy here in Peru. If you are interested in coming on a workshop in 2010, you can book during 2009 and receive the 2009 return guest price.

Blue Morpho Online Community: All previous guests are invited to sign up for the Blue Morpho Online Community. The online community has a number of features including a forum and chat. It is a great way to meet and stay in touch with people that have all been to Blue Morpho and are connected in the medicine.

Blue Morpho Community: The Blue Morpho Community will be launched in early 2010. Community members will support workshops and the Blue Morpho Online community through our web site.

The Documentary: Keith Aronowitz's documentary is available online. He has a website dedicated to the film. http://www.metamorphosisfilm.com. I hope you all enjoy it. It will be a great way to share with friends and family the practice of Ayahuasca medicine. It is a two DVD set with extra interviews and icaros. Guests have given very positive responses to the film and have also loved having the icaros in their home.

Icaro Cd's and other creative projects: We are still dedicated to the recording of Icaros and our other creative projects. All of our recording will be available through Blue Morpho Living.

Blue Morpho Living: Blue Morpho Living will be a new web site dedicated to the presentation of the Blue Morpho spiritual philosophy. We will present the philosophy in short, easy to read, sections, and combine a daily activity that is designed to propel you further into experiencing, and understanding your universe. We will provide interviews, audio recordings, videos, instructional videos, books, and cleansing and meditation materials. Here you have the opportunity to blend your spiritual exploration and daily life. All guests will receive free memberships to Blue Morpho Living. This will be the support network and path, to maintain the connection to the medicine once returning from camp. The site is scheduled to be launched in 2010. We have already formed the development team and have begun to amass the tremendous amount of material that will be included in this site.

Peruvian Government Regulation: In a few weeks there will be a gathering of shamans from the Iquitos Area to discuss the new laws and respond to the government. It looks like the practice of traditional medicine will be protected but now we have to communicate with the government our needs. Many topics will be discussed at the meeting including government legislation, the protection of the medicinal plants and their uses in extract and essence forms. Blue Morpho will be used as an example and model of shamanic centers in the presentation. Here we will present to the government all of the letters that previous guests have written on behalf of the traditional medicine practices and centers like ours that help to preserve these great traditions.

Thank you all for your continued support and interest in Blue Morpho. Together we make the sharing of this medicine possible.

Peace and light to you all,

Hamilton Souther
