First of all I want to thank all of our guests that came to our new camp this year 2006. Thank You from our entire staff and shamanism team!
2006 was an amazing year. We moved locations as mentioned in our last news letter, then began a bold project to expand infrastructure to meet the needs of our guests and the increased group sizes. We are now finished with the first phase of building and moving into the second phase. The fist phase concluded in October in the main camp area with the completion of the main house, ceremonial house, maestro house, apprentice house, friends and family bungalow and four guest bungalows. We now offer individual accommodations in four separate bungalows. Each bungalow houses six guests. We paved the end of the road and built a garage. We added brick paths between all buildings as well as landscaping. The gardens are absolutely beautiful bringing splashes of color in every direction.
In our second phase we will have a combined meditation/arts and crafts center overlooking the swimming pond, projected to be finished in early 07. Then we will build three small meditation bungalows and seclusion dieting bungalows.
Blue Morpho has continued to grow. We have three full-time apprentices that accompany each tour and two part-time apprentices. All are showing great courage and progressing rapidly. Group sizes have been limited to a maximum size of 24. As we have grown our dedication to the guest has continued as our focus and even with the larger groups the quality of the ceremonies and personal service has improved.
In March of 2006 the magazine Nation Geographic Adventure published an article written by Kira Salak titled “Hell and Back.” I want to offer our sincerest thanks to her for writing the article. We have received incredible response from readers. This article brought information about our work into the homes of millions across the United States and worldwide. Since the article we have been invited by a number of different documentary film companies and writers interested in our work. We are taking the new publicity very seriously and only participating with individuals that demonstrate the same integrity and ethics as we do.
We are extremely happy with our continued growth. For 2007 we will be focusing on Ayahuasca workshops and apprenticeships. In addition we have embarked on a new path to generate material that supports our work at the camp. We will be recording CDs, transcribing channeled talks and Hamilton is writing a book on Personal Transformation through Amazonian Shamanism. We will record Icaro Cds, Guided meditations, and Shamanic Journey Cds. In 2007 we will offer 14, 9 day workshops. A list of the group workshop dates is available on the Prices and Reservations page on our website. www.bluemorphotours.com This is an exciting time since it was one of the dreams for Blue Morpho to form into a substantial center for shamanic study and learning. Our dream is coming true with the interest of our guests and our dedication to the purity of the shamanism.
SPECIAL NOTE: The Peruvian Government is beginning the initial steps to legislate and control the native shamanic practices and traditional medicine in Peru, especially the use of medicinal plants. Shamans from all over Peru, natives, mestizos, and foreigners alike are coming together to form associations to lobby the government seeking fair treatment, the right to practice traditional medicine and shamanism. If we do not convince the government of our sincerity and responsibility the practice of shamanism could be outlawed soon. WE ARE ASKING FOR EVERYONE’S SUPPORT that has felt they have benefited from our work.
We are asking that everyone write us an email that we can present to the Peruvian Government. Please make the subject of the e mail, Peruvian Government
We would like the e mail to include:
- Your reason for coming to Peru
- When you visited Blue Morpho
- A description of your experience at Blue Morpho
- A description of us including shamans, apprentices, and staff
- An estimation of the amount of money you spent in total on your trip to Peru
- If you would like to come back
- How many people you have told about your experience recommending Blue Morpho or travel in Peru
I know that many of you are busy in your daily lives, but we really need the support of all of our guests to be able to stand a chance with the government. This will not only help us but will preserve the culture of shamanism in Peru. WE NEED YOUR HELP.
We now look to the future for our continued success. We give thanks for all the wonderful change that has come and welcome the change that the future will bring. We come together to aid others from our own connection to Spirit and open the space for others to grow in theirs. Together we experience the transformation from the invisibility of spirit to its pure manifestation. Let us continue, together, to breathe life into these ancient studies and maintain the shamanism cultures still living in the hearts of the locals and us.
