STEP 3: Iquitos Flight Itinerary
All of our trips begin and end in Iquitos, Peru. You are responsible for arranging your flights to and from Iquitos. You will first have to fly to Lima, Peru, and from there take a domestic flight to Iquitos. Please plan on arriving to Iquitos at least 1 day before trip begins, and you can depart from Iquitos the day that the trip ends after 4:00 PM. Flight delays within Peru are not uncommon, so please DO NOT plan on arriving the morning that the trip begins.
We recommend LAN Airlines for your domestic flights between Lima and Iquitos (usually around $225 round trip). We have noticed that sometimes if you choose the "Peru" version of LAN.com, though the web page is in Spanish, the prices may be lower.
You can either arrange your flights through your travel agent or online. If you would like to arrange your flights online or get an idea how much flights cost, you can visit http://www.travelocity.com or http://www.expedia.com. You can use them just to find a good itinerary and then contact the recommended airline directly about the fare. If you purchase directly from the airline, as opposed to a third party website online, tickets may be cheaper and they are usually give you more flexibility in case you need to change your itinerary. So we recommend that you use Travelocity or Expedia to find tickets, but to buy them directly from the airline. If fares are coming back high, try selecting a flight to Lima on Friday instead of on Saturday, as airlines raise their fares for weekend travel dates, so you could try a Friday departure to Lima.
For all flights arriving to Iquitos on the day before or two days before a tour between 6:00 AM and 8:20 PM, a Blue Morpho representative will greet you at the airport in Iquitos and get you oriented. If you are on a flight that arrives to Iquitos outside of that window, hotel transport will be provided for those staying at the Hotel Acosta or Hotel Victoria Regia or Dorado Plaza (5 star) about $65 / night (http://www.grupo-dorado.com/

STEP 4: Hotel Preference
You will need a hotel reservation for the nights you will be in Iquitos before and/or after your Blue Morpho trip. Blue Morpho works directly with and can make your hotel reservations at the 3 star Hotel Victoria Regia (www.victoriaregiahotel.com/eng.htm) - around $65/night, or at the 3 star Hotel Acosta (www.hotelacosta.com) - around $40/night. We usually make the hotel reservation on behalf of our guests. Just let us know which hotel you would like to stay at.
Other Information
- Passports: Unless you are already a Peruvian citizen or resident you must have a passport to travel to Peru. Peruvian immigration may require that your passport DOES NOT expire within 6 months of your departure date out of Peru.
- Travel VISA: With the exception of a few countries, travel visas are normally not required for travellers entering into Peru with valid passports and Peruvian immigration will normally stamp a 30 to 90 day stay when you enter the country. If you are in question, please double check with your country's Peruvian consulate to confirm whether or not you need a travel visa. If Peruvian immigration refuses your entry into the country because of your passport or visa status, Blue Morpho cannot be responsible for refunding your deposit.
- Vaccinations and Anti-Malarial Medications: We recommend that you consult a travel doctor to find out if you should receive any vaccinations or anti-malaria medication. A good source of information for tropical disease is the CDC's website (Center for Disease Control and Prevention): http://wwwn.cdc.gov/travel/regionTropicalSouthAmerica.aspx
- Shamans / Shamanic Activities: Maestros Don Alberto Torres Davila and Hamilton Souther are scheduled to hold all ceremonies. In the rare event that Don Alberto is unable to attend, Hamilton leads all shamanic activities.
