To all who read this not knowing or understanding what Blue Morpho Tours is and
does. We are two cynical Scots who were travelling around South America, and
somehow ended up in Iquitos. As is the way it was unplanned and unresearched
but we arrived and found that we were really in the heart of the Amazon, this is
the place where jungle research expeditions start from! Whatever the costs we
thought we had better undertake our own expedition of this extraordinary
habitat, and culture.... we started on the net and came across this website.

As we read through it, it seemed the right choice for us, a couple of 25 year
olds, looking to experience something real and genuine of the jungle. It isn't
easy with the wide range of blue-lagoon resorts serving chilled beers by the
pool for 400 u.s. dollars a day. We asked for more information by e-mail. And
were surprised to be approached that same day by two guys on a motorbike while
we ate lunch at Ari's Diner in the main square. "are you the couple interested
in taking a trip with Blue Morpho?" said a tall American. "emmmm yes" we
replied. We arranged to come round to meet up and find out more.
Disarmingly we were invited to Hamilton's house where we spent an hour
discussing Ayahuasca and the company and what he had organized for the coming
week. It was all a little weird initially but his frank and unassuming manner
put us at ease and the time flew by. Before we knew it we'd signed up for an
Ayahuasca ceremony and three days of excitement and adventure with his adopted
family in the jungle. We were thrilled and overwhelmed by the prospect.
What was this visionary medicine we were about to ingest? What does a Shaman do?
Would we survive? What would we find out? Where were we going? All of these
fears and nerves were put to rest by Hamilton during the first hour and by
Gustavo over the course of the next three days.
We won't go into detail; leaving these adventures to those who make it out
there. Other than to say, two cynical Scots on a limited budget, experienced a
world alien to anything they had seen or felt before. It was truly amazing,
unforgettable and highly recommended. Thank you for the care, warmth and respect
from Rosa and Pedro and all the gang. We will definitely return again when the
time is right......
