Food and Drink Considerations, in Keeping With Shamanic Guidelines
- The food at Blue Morpho is prepared fresh on site by government-certified staff in a
licensed kitchen. - All food adheres to the restrictions of a safe Ayahuasca diet:
- 1. No added sugar or available sugar products (jam, etc.)
- 2. No alcohol used in cooking or allowed in camp
- 3. No pork products
- 4. No red meat
- Personal nutritional restrictions can be accommodated for, within the boundaries of shamanism.
- 1. Ovo-lacto vegetarian
- 2. Vegan
- Only high-quality filtered water is used in cooking and provided as drinking water.
- Hot high-quality filtered water is available in all common areas 24 hours a day for guests to make their own hot beverages. We provide a selection of herbal teas, coffee, and coffee substitutes.
Ayahuasca Preparation and Introductory Talks
- Guests participate in all aspects and stages of Ayahuasca preparation to ensure full understanding of the process.
- A detailed workbook is issued to each guest, explaining all the information a guest needs to understand the camp’s facilities and processes, and to help them enjoy their stay.

- Talks are held before the ceremonies begin to:
- 1. Outline camp safety and procedures
- 2. Explain the process of how a ceremony works
- 3. Explain what Ayahuasca is, how it works, and what guests may experience
Post-Ceremony Talks
- We hold talks on the mornings after our Ayahuasca ceremonies.
- These talks are designed to allow our guests a non-judgmental space in which they can share their experiences, and where the shamans can help the guests understand what they experienced in ceremony the night before.
- These talks help the guests understand and integrate the work they are doing within the Ayahuasca medicine.
- These talks also open a space in which return guests can share the experiences of how the Ayahuasca medicine continues to integrate after guests have returned home.
Traditional and Universal Shamanism Question-and-Answer Sessions
- We hold regular question-and-answer sessions.
- Times are provided for private one-on-one talks with the shamans.
- Group question-and-answer sessions are scheduled by the shamans to discuss any aspects of traditional Ayahuasca shamanism that guests desire.
- Universal shamanism is a unique addition to traditional shamanism at Blue Morpho. Maestro Hamilton holds regular talks that help explain the principles of Universality and Unification. These talks pre-frame the conscious mind to prepare it for the experiential learning that will take place that night in the Ayahuasca ceremony.
