Enter the World of Ayahuasca:
Master Shamans ~ Traditional Medicine ~ Professional Facilitators

Designed for holistic personal and life transformation, Blue Morpho’s ayahuasca retreats are dynamic, effective and integrative. The foundation of our approach starts with ayahuasca and plant medicine, is built through experiential community-bonding and skilled facilitation, and rests upon 7 core principles that we strive to uphold in everything we do: Medicine, Safety, Service, Professionalism, Integrity, Community, and Heart.

We focus our expertise on making this experience relatable and meaningful, with an emphasis on practical understanding and long-lasting results. Our high-percentage of return guests is a testament to the transformational power of ayahuasca in conjunction with Blue Morpho’s process. Since our inception in 2002, it has been and continues to be our mission to share the life-changing experiences that ayahuasca shamanism helps to achieve in a safe, professional and supportive environment.

7 Day 5 Ceremony Ayahuasca Retreats

Everyone is called to ayahuasca uniquely; our retreats help you discover what this call is and how to bring resolution to your intentions for coming. We create a holistic, integrative and transformative environment that combines ayahuasca medicine with the practical application of shamanism, community-focused activities and heart-based spirituality. Over the last 16 years, we have refined this process into a 7 Day 5 Ceremony retreat program that safely and effectively bridges Western cultures with traditional shamanism in order to facilitate meaningful, positive and impactful ayahuasca experiences.

The natural movement of ayahuasca gives you the opportunity to address the root causes of what you’re looking to overcome, whether it is rooted in the body, mind, emotions or spirit. As the retreat progresses, and your work with the medicine deepens, we harness the wisdom of the plants to help you navigate your process, understand the journey ahead, and receive the support you need as the nature of this experience unfolds. As it does, you find yourself on a remarkable journey of healing and learning, cleansing and releasing, and going straight into the very heart and soul of what it means to be a human being.

Led by Maestro Alberto Torres Davila and our team of shamans and assistants, our ayahuasca retreats are comprehensive, with a wide-range of offerings that includes ample time for group interaction, individual reflection, supporting activities, and ultimately, the opportunity to take your work with the medicine very deep.

Blue Morpho’s Shamanic Team

Our Ayahuasca Retreats Include:

Traditional Ayahuasca Ceremonies: Led by 7th Generation Master Shaman Don Alberto Torres Davila, who has over 50 years of experience working with medicinal plants and is recognized as one of the best ayahuasca healers in the Ucayali River region. Together with Blue Morpho’s team of skilled shamans and assistants, come experience the mysterious and transformational power of sacred plant medicine. The focal point of our retreats, ayahuasca ceremonies help you release, cleanse, purify and learn through direct connection to spirit, love, wisdom, and your heart.

Community-Focused Group Activities: Group dynamic is central to our approach. During the retreat, Blue Morpho becomes its own tribe bonded together by group activities that encourage sharing, connection, heart-opening and authentic expression. Activities include:

  • Sharing circles
  • Sacred motion
  • Group discussions
  • Breathwork and integrative yoga classes
  • Smudging ceremonies
  • Sound journeys
  • Medicinal plant walks
  • Educational trips to local sites
  • Integration: tools, applications, going home
  • And More!

Dynamic Group Discussions: Discussion sessions are held on most days, offering you the chance to deepen, reflect upon and integrate your ceremonial experiences. With a multi-perspective approach, we unearth the anthropological and shamanic, the mystical and the practical, the humanistic and the heart-based. A non-judgmental and exploratory space to learn, share, and grow.

Personal Shamanic Care: Each person receives the shamanic attention they need, both in and out of ceremony. We perform individual healing sessions (called venteadas) for each guest and offer one-on-one time with the shamans and assistants throughout the week. Help and support are available to you the entire time.

Discussion and Identification of Medicinal Plants: Learn about the unique properties of the indigenous flora. The Amazon is home to thousands of medicinal plants used by the locals to cure many illnesses ranging from headaches to cancer. As part of the ayahuasca cooking process, you will learn about the medicinal plants that go into our ayahuasca brew. You also have the opportunity to visit and get to know many of these plants that grow on the property during a medicinal plant walk.

Ayahuasca Cooking Process: Join the group for a special opportunity to participate in making fresh ayahuasca that you will drink during the retreat. Learn about Maestro Alberto’s 50+ years as a medicine man while participating in the entire process. See firsthand the care and expertise Maestro puts into each batch of medicine.

Guided Meditations: Guided meditations are offered before each ceremony and on our night off, offering support to the changes induced in ceremony. Our meditations incorporate relaxation techniques, gentle body movements, integration practices, and imaginary exercises to help bring balance to your consciousness.

Shamanic Skill Practice: Our team of skilled and experienced facilitators offers creative and practical ways that help bridge the shamanic and spiritual into meaningful tools that you can take home and apply to everyday life. With a variety of backgrounds and healing modality expertise, our entire retreat environment is a week-long workshop on how to turn ordinary living into something magical, exploratory and transformational.

Integration Practices: From the very first day, we emphasize the importance and value in integration. We offer comprehensive integration practices that enhance not only your time on the retreat, but that support your continued learning and evolution at home. Each participant receives our Video Integration Package, as well as a series of emails containing information that highlights additional tools to make use of post-retreat.

Shamanic Dieting: On select retreats, shamanic plant dietas are offered. Traditionally used as the means of apprenticing in the jungle, a shamanic dieta can help provide deep personal healing, learning, and significant life transformation. Dietas are very powerful and recommended only for those who are ready to seriously commit to their plant medicine work. Follow these links for more information on our shamanic plant dietas and Sanango dietas.

As one of the most well-respected and longstanding shamanic centers in the Peruvian Amazon, Blue Morpho is honored to represent the preservation of plant spirit medicine and ayahuasca traditions through dedication, spiritual and professional integrity, and a genuine love for this work. We are indebted to the unending generosity of the plants and look forward to sharing this extraordinary journey with you…

Medical Screening

Safety is our number one priority. In some cases, drinking ayahuasca is not appropriate for individuals who have certain mental or physical health conditions, or are taking medications that are potentially dangerous to consume with ayahuasca. In all cases, we meticulously screen potential guests for medical history, prior and current medications and supplements, and overall health and well-being to determine suitability for participating in our programs. Blue Morpho reserves the right to refuse admission or to refrain from administering ayahuasca or other sacred plant medicines if we deem it unsafe. To see the health and medical sections on our application form, please click one of the “register now” links in the calendar above or on our retreat booking page.

Cancellation Policy

Payments are refundable if you give Blue Morpho admin at least 60 days’ notice in writing that you will not attend the retreat you signed up for. However, there is an administrative cost to cover bank transaction fees of 10% of amount paid. Alternatively, if you cannot attend your retreat and have given us the 60 days’ notice, you may transfer your payment to a different retreat within the following 12 months at no charge (for the first transfer; any additional transfers can be made with an admin fee of $50). If you elect to transfer your payment, this cannot later be refunded. If you cancel your retreat and do not at time of cancellation request a refund or transfer, then the payment cannot later be refunded. For this reason we strongly recommend you take out comprehensive travel insurance that will cover any financial losses should you have to cancel your visit within 60 days for any reason.

Dietary and Behavioral Restrictions

The ingestion of ayahuasca and other sacred plants requires participants to follow certain dietary and behavioral restrictions. These restrictions are necessary to optimize your safety, health, and the efficacy of the process. You will be notified of these restrictions in detail on the first day of the retreat, to which your agreement is required to participate. These restrictions include but are not limited to: limited intake of sugar or anything that tastes sweet; consumption of alcohol and street drugs is strictly forbidden during the retreat and for 7 days after your last intake of ayahuasca (this includes other sacred plants not part of the retreat program); consumption of pork or pork products is not allowed during the entire retreat and for 30 days after your last intake of ayahuasca; sexual activity of any kind is not permitted whatsoever between guests and/or staff during a retreat and for at least 3 days after (this includes couples).

The nature of the environment demands adherence to these dietary and behavioral restrictions, which are based on traditional plant spirit medicine. They support the proper and safe functioning of ayahuasca and the entire retreat process. Non-adherence to these restrictions can result in potentially serious consequences that include physical, emotional, mental and spiritual affliction. We strive to maintain the safest environment possible for participants to not only experience ayahuasca, but to get the most out of the experience that they can. Following these restrictions is paramount to making this happen. It is not important for participants to understand this completely, but it is mandatory that they observe the rules.

Please note that the dietary restrictions for shamanic plant dietas and Sanango dietas are specific to each program. You can visit the corresponding pages for the dietary specifications required for these retreats. If you would like clarification on any of the information provided here, please email us directly at info@bluemorphotours.com.
