Community Outreach

Blue Morpho is very grateful to the local communities for allowing us to operate our Center in their neighborhood. As a way of showing our gratitude, we run a variety of charitable community outreach programs across the year. These vary from scholarships for technical education, purchasing school supplies and uniforms for the local village students, giving laptops to secondary age children, supplying local sports groups with sneakers and uniforms, to building a garden at the local police barracks. Below are just a few examples to share with our Blue Morpho Guests, who have donated many items and money towards these and other charitable endeavors.

Blue Morpho Shamanic Ayahuasca Center Guest Donations in Action

Blue Morpho Shamanic Ayahuasca Center Guest donations are given out to Iquitos locals and neighboring villagers. Each tour many of our guests donate spare clothes, first aid items, shoes and other necessities. Once a year, Blue Morpho holds an event where locals can come in and individually pick the things they need from the all of the donations.

Christmas Holiday Party “Chocolatada”

Each year around the Christmas holidays, Blue Morpho Shamanic Ayahuasca Center sponsors the community holiday party of the local jungle village “La Habana” called the “Chocolatada.” A “Chocolatada” is traditionally celebrated with gallons and gallons of hot chocolate, sweet cakes, snacks and beverages, music and clowns for entertainment.

Village Birthday Party

Many families in the local surrounding villages of Blue Morpho Ayahuasca Center and Retreat in Peru cannot afford to buy birthday presents and throw birthday parties for their children. This year, with the help of guest donations and support from the Blue Morpho team, the village children of La Habana were all able to celebrate their birthday’s together.

Service to the Community

Carlos and Pancho help plant a flower garden at our neighboring Police community center. The local Police Chief recently asked Blue Morpho to help fund and complete this project to help spruce up the entrance to their gated community.

Paulo, a newly graduated mechanic, overhauls a Honda Falcoln 450 street bike. With the help of a Blue Morpho Tours scholarship, Paulo recently completed mechanic school and now has full-time employment at one of the local auto centers.
